Therefore, in this article we want to help you make the most of a short stay in the capital with the perfect route to enjoy Zaragoza in 1 day. Zaragoza in 1 day. The itinerary to get the most out of the city
Upon arrival
If you have arrived by public transport (train, bus…), in the following link we detail how to get from Delicias Station to the center of Zaragoza. And for a comfortable and safe experience, do not forget to store your luggage (even if only for a few hours), in Megalockers, our luggage storage in Zaragoza, in the heart of the city.
During the morning
Once in the center, the first stop to see Zaragoza in 1 day is obvious and mandatory. Take a walk around the impressive Plaza del Pilar, enjoy its unparalleled views, both from the Plaza itself and from the bridges of the Ebro and take lots of pictures to show off on your social networks. After that, do not forget to enter the Basilica. If it is beautiful on the outside, you can’t even imagine inside. You can’t leave Zaragoza without greeting our Virgen del Pilar (la Pilarica).
Take your time enjoying the Roman remains of the historic center, visit the Roman Walls, the Roman Theater, the Forum, stroll around the area, without forgetting to also enter the Cathedral of the Savior (better known as the Seo), another place of great beauty.
If the weather is nice, take a walk along the banks of the Ebro River and take a deep breath, listening to the sound of the water and the birds.
At lunch time
Zaragoza is a city with a high gastronomic level and typical products such as ternasco de Aragón, migas or cardoon that delight the most demanding palates. The most typical area to have a vermouth, have a snack or eat till you drop is called “El Tubo” and it is located in the historical center. You will enjoy like a child.
During the afternoon
After having seen the “must see” area of the city and having filled your stomach, there are now different alternatives to see in the afternoon, depending on your tastes, the time you have to leave the city, etc. However, we bring you 2 proposals according to your interests:
Plan A: If you do not feel like moving much, you are passionate about culture etc, we recommend you to visit some of the most important museums in Zaragoza. We have the Goya Museum, the Tapestry Museum of La Seo, the Museum of the Roman Theater…no doubt you will find one of your taste.
Plan B: If on the other hand you want to know more about the city outdoors and do not mind walking, start a walk along the main arteries of Zaragoza, from Alfonso Street, Plaza de España, Paseo de la Independencia, Gran Vía, Fernando el Católico and end the journey in Parque Grande, the most beautiful green area of the city, no doubt you will love it.
If you are a soccer fan, next to it is located the Romareda Stadium, where Real Zaragoza plays its home games.
Back home
If it’s almost time to go back home, from the Parque Grande area you can take the tram towards Avenida de la Academia and in 10 or 12 minutes you will arrive at the Plaza España stop, where you can get off to pick up your luggage at Megalockers, our luggage storage space in Zaragoza and head to Delicias Station.
We hope this itinerary to visit Zaragoza in 1 day is to your liking and you come back soon to our city to enjoy all the places you have yet to discover. We are waiting for you with open arms.
